Our fabulous, most-expenses-paid trip to Hong Kong!

More specifically, it was a business trip for Derek, and Laurie just tagged along for the ride. We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, one of the nicest in Hong Kong--there are certain advantages to working for a VLFI. You don't want to know what the final bill was. (If you really want to know, e-mail Derek. :-)

Hong Kong is less of a place to do and see specific things than a place to wander around and soak up the sights, smells, and sounds. There's still a lot of English signage, and enough of the residents speak English so that we didn't have much trouble getting around. Our Lonely Planet city guide was a big help, too. Laurie had a wonderful time wending her way through Central, Wan Chai, Sheung Wan, and Tsimshatsui, mostly taking pictures and window-shopping while Derek was working.

This way to our Hong Kong online photo album!
