Rick's story

Fleet took over NatWest and I had to move personal accounts because they couldn't do regularly scheduled (mortgage debit) transactions consistently. They just took over Summit and that's also getting scary for our business relationships.

In March we wrote a check that wasn't properly booked, our CPA found it and suggested we wait to see what happened. We're a staffing service and we wrote a paycheck for $416.00. to an employee who got her cash, and the statement said it was only for $116.00. We do write a lot of checks and they charge us an incredible service charge for doing so.

This week we got a letter over a Vice President's signature saying that they had in fact mis-posted it and were assessing our account for 400 Dollars. Since our local Summit branch has no love for Fleet, we took it down there to show them that Fleet says 416-116=400 and have them correct it, but they said that the Adjustment Department would do it faster and suggested we call the toll-free number.

Naturally the Adjustment Department was overwhelmed so instead of talking to Utica, New York we wound up talking to Rhode Island, and near as I can figure out, they're giving us another $300.00 to make good!

I am looking forward to requesting that they prepare a 1099 for employing us in the Adjustment Department audit!
