Sean's story

I hate them. I have hated them for some time and I banked with them since they opened their first branch in Bristol (1987). They were a small, good bank at the time. Within 5 years it went to shit and I ended up cancelling everything in a similar fashion.

My Mom opened an account shortly before I did, and still has an account with them. I worked with my Mom for 8 years and even though I wasn't a customer I still got to witness first hand their incompetence month after awful month. Their credit card department is especially porked, about every 3 or 4 months something would wrong and she'd have to call for 2 days to straighten it out.

I still get calls from her now that I don't work with her anymore about their latest debacle. I urge her every time to ditch them, and hopefully someday she will.

I'm at a small Credit Union now and it's been wonderful. Only 1 mistake in 4 years and they were quick to fix it, and genuinely apologized for their error. They know me by name and are always friendly even when I was dirt poor.

Big banks only know you when you have LOTS of money, and even then your still subject the administrative glitches involved with maintaining such a large system.

Death to the Big Banks!
